It was discovered during archaeological excavations in the Minoan Palace of Phaistos in Crete. It is a clay disk with engraved hieroglyphics. Its content is still unknown as it has not yet been decoded. The authentic Phaistos disk is found in the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion, Crete.
